The short version
Both have free plans, but Smile's covers 200 orders a month while Yotpo's App Store listing caps it under 100. Smile's paid ladder starts at $15 and climbs through $79 and $199; Yotpo goes straight to $199 a month for Pro and then charges per order above 500, so a 2,000-order store pays roughly $199 plus about $200 in order fees on Yotpo against $199 on Smile Growth. Yotpo holds VIP tiers, custom CSS and multi-currency for its custom-quoted Premium plan, whereas Smile unlocks VIP tiers at $199. Yotpo's advantage is reach: it supports Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and WooCommerce, and pairs with Yotpo Reviews, while Smile is Shopify and BigCommerce only. Yotpo also went through a staff cut of about a third and an exit from email and SMS in August 2025 to refocus on reviews and loyalty, which is worth asking about before signing.

What drives the price: Monthly order volume. Pro adds a decreasing per-order charge above 500 orders; yotpo.com and the App Store listing quote slightly different per-order rates.

Worth knowing:
- Yotpo exited email and SMS marketing in August 2025, cutting about a third of its staff and moving those customers to Attentive and Omnisend, saying it would refocus on Reviews and Loyalty (Shopifreaks, 11 August 2025). Worth asking about roadmap and support before a contract.
- Per-order fees on Pro differ between yotpo.com ($0.05–$0.20) and the Shopify App Store listing ($0.08–$0.20).
